Qatar-Saudi Arabia Relations


The Joint Coordination Council (JCC) was established between the State of Qatar and KSA in Jeddah in 2008.

Through this committee, the two wise leaders aim at developing the bilateral relations, as well as securing common interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Based on those historical bilateral relations, bilateral bonds of kinship and common destiny and sage directions of the leaderships of the two countries, HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, ex-Emir of Qatar, and HH King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of Saudi Arabia.

Signed Agreements

  • Agreements in the field of civil defense
  • Agreements on diplomatic and consular cooperation, cooperation to combat smuggling and illicit trafficking in drugs, intoxicating substances and chemical precursors.
  • An agreement on the establishment of a Joint Businessmen Council (JBC) between the Council of Saudi Chambers(CSC) and Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry(QCCI).
  • Memoranda of understanding on cooperation in the field of health
  • Memoranda of understanding on agriculture, livestock, fish resources
  • Memoranda of understanding on industry, environmental protection
  • Cooperation in the field of meteorology and air transport.
