General Information
Historical importance:
Jeddah is considered a historical open museum, containing heritage that vividly tells the history of Jeddah. Thanks to Jeddah's status as the bride of the Red Sea and the gateway to the two holy mosques, it is the second largest city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, considered the economic and tourist capital, bustling with life and rich in various commercial activities and many cultural activities. It inaugurated the largest seaport on the Red Sea (Jeddah Islamic Port), serving as a financial and business center and a major port for exporting non-oil goods and importing local needs.
Saudi culture
has flourished and developed within the framework of Islamic legislation and teachings. Jeddah is adjacent to one of the noblest and holiest places on earth, Mecca and Medina, which are the most important attractions for foreign visitors to Saudi Arabia, in addition to the kingdom's coastal areas on the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, mountainous areas rich in charming landscapes, and vast deserts. This has earned it an important place on the UNESCO World Heritage List, housing a large collection of historical sites, including Jeddah's walls, alleys that tell an ancient story. historical mosques, and markets that continue to attract large numbers of visitors and tourists to enjoy the historical area of Jeddah and the middle of the old market.
Recreational places:
There are various entertainment options in Jeddah, as it is distinguished by its waterfront (the Corniche), which extends along the coast for more than 48 kilometers. 35 kilometers of which contain public facilities and services, boasting the latest luxury amenities and magnificent views of the Red Sea. Walking from the Corniche towards the city center, you can see the world's tallest fountain, the King Fahd Fountain, which rises about 312 meters above sea level. Jeddah also includes art exhibitions that allow visitors to explore local and international arts, as well as seasonal exhibitions that cover all fields, such as the Jeddah Super Dome Exhibition, which annually hosts the Hajj and Umrah Services Exhibition. Additionally, there are numerous shopping centers ranging from popular markets and closed shopping centers to international shopping malls. Hotels, resorts, entertainment centers, and restaurants along the beaches of Jeddah offer various marine activities.
