The Consulate General is a bilateral mission in Jeddah, which sponsors the interests of the State of Qatar in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and assumes the permanent delegation of Qatar to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which works to enhance and develop the common cooperation between Qatar and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its bodies, committees, and various institutions. Jeddah is also characterized by its importance as a financial, business, and tourist center, in addition to the presence of many headquarters of state and regional organizations and institutions.
The consular section provides services in general to local individuals wishing to visit the State of Qatar, as well as providing assistance and support to Qatari citizens during their visits to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially pilgrims and visitors to the Holy Kaaba in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, in addition to providing all facilities to facilitate the tasks of official state delegations and providing advice and support to Qatari citizens in the problems they face within its geographical jurisdiction, which includes the areas of Mecca, Medina, Tabuk, Jazan, Al-Baha, Asir, and Najran.
